2.0 Site Status Summary
Reactor fuel has been removed from the facility. The licensee submitted a decommissioning plan (DP) for review. Staff reviewed the DP and made suggestions to the licensee for a revised report. The licensee submitted a new DP and Final Status Survey Plan in August 2007. These documents have been reviewed by the PM and HP and approved. A FSP approval letter has been prepared. An EA and FONSI has been prepared and made final. A FRN announcing the EA and FONSI was published. The DP was approved in December 2007. However, the licensee said that the funds to begin decommissioning will not be available until 2011. The licensee issued a RFP for a decommissioning contractor in early 2011.
