Locations of Research and Test Reactor Sites Undergoing Decommissioning

The Office of Federal and State Materials and Environmental Management Programs (FSME) has project management and inspection oversight for decommissioning research and test reactors. Inspections will be conducted by regional staff.

Currently six research and test reactors have approved decommissioning plans, and all six of those are actively decommissioning. Two others have decommissioning plans under review. For more information, see Research and Test Reactors and Backgrounder on Research and Test Reactors.
