Nader L. Mamish

Nader L. Mamish assumed the position as Assistant for Operations in September 2009. Mr. Mamish joined the NRC in 1992 as a Radiation Specialist in the former Region V office. In 1993, he transferred to headquarters and served in a number of positions, including Senior Enforcement Specialist, Office of Enforcement; Regional Program Coordinator, Office of Nuclear Materials Safety and Safeguards; Senior Materials Coordinator, Office of the Executive Director for Operations; Chief, Operations Center and Chief, Coordination Section, Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response (NSIR). In 2004, Mr. Mamish was selected as Deputy Director for Emergency Preparedness, NSIR, and in 2007 Mr. Mamish was selected as Deputy Director for Licensing and Inspection, Division of Spent Fuel Storage and Transportation, Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards (NMSS).

Mr. Mamish received a B.S. degree in Radiological Health Physics and an M.S. degree in Radiological Sciences from the University of Massachusetts. He is a graduate of the 2003 Senior Executive Service (SES) Candidate Development Program. Prior to joining the NRC, Mr. Mamish had 7 years of experience in a variety of positions working for Yankee Atomic Electric Company and Florida Power and Light Company.
